OMG! Would You Please Backup?
The most valuable thing about our technology is the data on it.
Protect What Really Matters, Backup Files
The files we accumulate throughout our lives are, in a sense, our lives. The pictures we take, the music we listen to, and the documents we work hard to develop are all at risk, but we could easily secure them by taking a few cautionary steps.
Hope for the best, but prepare for the worst.
Personally, I like to have up-to-date copies of my files, so I’ve set up my system to backup all user-files daily (this can be best accomplished by installing an extra hard-drive to the computer system, connecting a USB, or connecting an external hard-drive for the backups). Including an image of the computer system in the backup is also a good idea in case the system crashes. A system image takes up a lot of memory however, so make sure you can afford it.
In a nutshell, a system image and backed-up files will help us recover in case of an emergency. Web search your Operating System along with “How to backup files” and you’ll find a lot of direction.
